How long have you been behind the chair?
I’ve been behind the chair for 7 years. I started my education at a Paul Mitchell school in Southern California, and had the opportunity to work as a receptionist at a Kevin Murphy salon while still in school. After moving back home to TN, I worked in Nashville where I would grow as a colorist and gain experience in the Special Event Hair and Makeup Industry! It’s been a wonderful journey to now find myself working locally in my community here in Hendersonville as a Lived-In Color Specialist.
What is your favorite service to perform in the salon?
My favorite service behind the chair is Lived-In Blonding. I love giving my Client a beautiful, customized color, that will grow out seamlessly. It is a more sustainable and accessible approach to color services, and makes me proud as a provider.
What would your dream vacation be?
I would love to explore Europe! A couple places on my wishlist; Ireland, Scotland, Spain, and the Netherlands!
Who is your biggest inspiration in the industry?
There are many stylists that stand out on Instagram who provide so much free education to stylists all over the world! I’m so thankful for these professionals, even though I’ve never them in person. But those who come to mind who deeply inspire me are individuals that I've worked with, especially at my first Salon receptionist job at Buffalo Co. in Temecula, CA. There I had the opportunity to watch stylists with 10-15+ years of experience conduct their businesses and each provide their clientele with such a unique and mastered tool belt of offerings. They all worked differently and attracted the exact clientele that they were meant to cater to. It’s very inspiring to see Artist’s who have honed in on their speciality and put decades into mastering their craft.
